Website owners are responsible your domain registration renewals. It is important that you never let your domain registration expire. In many instances this will result in losing your domain, which means having to register a new domain and republishing your website.
Logging Into Administrative Mode
To edit the content of a website, you first must log into Administrative mode. This is done by first going to the login page (https://alamowebsolutions.com/account_login.html) using your browser. Note that another way to find this login page is select the “Account Login” link above in the main navigation of this website.
Note: Google Chrome needs to be used as the browser for website editing.
Once you display the login page, you need to enter the “login” and “password” of your account shown below and click login button. Once you log into your account, the home page of your website will be displayed and you will see an overlay help window. To start editing, click the “x” in the top right corner of the overlay window to make the overlay window disappear.
Website Editing
Each page of your website consists of a number of predefined containers that hold content elements. In most cases, website owners will be mainly interested in updating the current content and/or adding similar content that already exists. In these cases, the editing process will be relatively simple. Before doing any editing, you should watch the Content Editing video.
As you watch this video you will see an editing window (e.g. Text Properties) that is displayed as a right column. Until recently this these edit windows automatically appeared when a content element was selected. A few months ago the user interface was updated so now this editing window has to be explicitly opened. Use the following to a short video to understand how the edit window is now opened with the new user interface.
The video show shows how a new text element from the Build Menu, is added to the page. Once the text is added to the page, instead of being surrounded by a blue box, 2 blue lines appear .. one above and one below the new text element. Once the mouse button is released, the text is inserted onto the page and a new menu appears above the new text. Now clicking the “<” properties button in this menu causes the Text Properties menu to appear like the original user interface shown in the first video. And once text is edited and formatted, clicking the cursor anywhere on the page will close the Text Properties window and save the changes. Everything described in the first video is still relevant. Note that when watching or reading other help information, anytime "blue box" is referenced during an editing process, this will now appears as 2, blue lines on top and at the bottom of the selected content.
Once you watch Content Editing video you should have a basic understanding of edit and publish process. There are additional video tutorials that describe different types of editing tasks. Some of the other that might be helpful are:
